Frequently asked questions

Do I need to know how to swim to go canyoning?

Yes, basic comfort in water is required. You don't need to be an Olympic swimmer, but you should be able to float with a gentle current without panicking. Children must be comfortable in water.

From what age can you do canyoning?

The Family trip is accessible from age 8, Discovery from 12, Sport and Exception from 14. I assess each child individually: water comfort, motivation and ability to follow instructions.

What do I need to bring for a canyoning trip?

Sturdy hiking shoes or good closed trainers (no water shoes or sandals), a swimsuit or boxer-style underwear to wear under the wetsuit, and water. The rest (wetsuit, helmet, harness) is provided.

When is the best time for canyoning in the Ubaye?

The season runs from May to September. July-August for families (warmer water), June for sporty types (stronger sensations), September for tranquillity. I tailor each trip to the day's conditions.

How much does a canyoning trip cost?

From €45 per person for the Family trip, €50 for Discovery, €70 for Sport. The Exception trip is on request. Gear and guiding included. Group rates from 6 people.

Is it dangerous? How is safety handled?

Canyoning supervised by a state-certified instructor is a safe activity. I systematically scout canyons before each trip, adapt the route to the day's hydrology, and provide all certified safety gear. Professional liability insurance with MAIF.
